Dear Delegates,
On behalf of the International Relations Organization, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us for the fifteenth session of the Virginia International Crisis Simulation (VICS). VICS XV will take place from March 25 to March 28, 2010 at the beautiful and historic grounds of the University of Virginia.
As always, VICS XV is shaping up to be the exhilarating and innovative conference unique to the college level Model United Nations circuit. The goal of VICS is to provide delegates with the opportunity to participate in fast-paced, small crisis committees with objectives, topics, and crises unlike those commonly found at conferences. In the past VICS has featured committees like the New York Mafia, the Somali Pirates, Alexander the Great's War Cabinet, Google Management Team, and many more. In the span of just a few days a delegate at VICS participates in engaging debate, can spend time exploring Mr. Jefferson's University, and can take advantage of the night life of Charlottesville. From the casual conversation at the Head Delegate soiree to our infamous "Fraternity Simulation", delegates at VICS XV can be sure to expect the perfect balance of stimulating committee sessions and socializing on grounds with fellow conference-goers or the University community.
As Secretary-General of the Fifteenth Annual Virginia International Crisis Simulation, it is with warmest regards and great excitement that I welcome you to our conference and the University. My hope, and the goal of my Secretariat and staff, is to provide you with one of the best conference experiences and to ensure your time at the University of Virginia is as rewarding and memorable as possible.
In the months leading up to the conference, do not hesitate to contact me or any other member of the Secretariat if you have any questions or concerns regarding the conference this Spring. Our information is available on the biographies page and I urge you to contact us even if it just to introduce yourself and say hello. We are tasked with ensuring your conference registration and participation is as effortless as possible, so please feel free to ask any questions regardless of how trivial they may seem. Also, I recommend that you periodically check the VICS XV website for any updates concerning registration, hotel information, committees, etc.
This conference is made possible by the fantastic schools, personalities, and delegations that continue to attend year after year; VICS can only be as outstanding as the sum of its parts. Without being too cliche, the Secretariats and Secretaries Generals past have always commented on the uniqueness of the VICS experience and the bonds our delegates form. With that, I thank you for reading and I look forward to meeting you this spring at VICS XV!
Sincerely,
Marina Arnold
