Marina has been active in Model UN since her first conference in middle school. Since then she knew she had a passion for international relations and current affairs. She has been a delegate, organized, chaired, and run a number of Model UN conferences throughout middle school and high school and is happy to have the opportunity to continue Model UN in college. A second year in the College of Arts and Sciences, Marina plans to study business and Spanish with a minor in foreign affairs. After serving as Charge d'Affaires last year for VICS XIV, Marina is excited and proud to organize what is shaping up to be a fantastic VICS. She is honored to work with such a talented team and can't wait until the last weekend in March!
Melissa is a first year in the College of Arts and Sciences at UVa from Williamsburg, Virginia. Passionate about international relations, Melissa hopes to major in Foreign Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies. In addition to IRO, Melissa is also a member of the First Year Judicial Committee. Though having stopped Model UN her junior year of high school in order to pursue theatre, Melissa is excited to get back into it and cannot wait to help make VICS the best it can be!
Naz is a second year at the University from Izmir, Turkey who plans to study Finance and International Relations. She has been involved in Model UN throughout her high school years where she participated in various conferences around Europe, and has been obsessed with world affairs ever since. Planning crises in VICS XIV last year and chairing a committee in VAMUN XXIX, Naz is excited to be organizing the committees for VICS XV and she welcomes all the delegates to the Grounds. In her spare time, she enjoys to play volleyball and to travel. Naz is also an active member of the Chi Omega sorority.
Claire Saba is a first year in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia, hoping to major in Foreign Affaires with a minor in French. She is from Great Falls, Virginia and went to Georgetown Day School in Washington, Dc. In her spare time Claire enjoys playing lacrosse, traveling around the world, and hanging out with friends. A new member in the International Relations Organization (IRO), Claire is extremely excited to participate in VICS this year. In addition to working with the IRO, Claire is also a University Guide here at UVa. She is proud to be working on this VICS conference and is looking forward to meeting everyone here on grounds. Claire knows this year’s conference will be successful and memorable, and she can’t wait for it to start!
Mitch is a 4th year student with a major in Foreign Affairs of the Middle East and a minor in French. Despite never having participated in any Model UN Sims before college, he has since been actively involved and thoroughly enjoys debating the finer points international policy of the Middle East. Outside of academia, Mitch simply likes to have a good time and can usually be found in his kitchen cooking up a feast, or at the frat castle partaking in some 'extracurricular thirst-quenching'.
Brett is a 2nd year in the College of Arts and Sciences, who is going to double major in foreign affairs and economics, and minor in Chinese. He plans on entering the Batten School of Public Policy, where he will get an accelerated masters. Brett hails from the Jersey Shore, well 20 minutes from it, in a town called Manalapan. Though his family moved to Chicago when he went down to college, he is still loyal to his hometown Yankees and Giants. Brett was in an International Studies program in his high school, and was a member of the Junior Statesmen of America. Though only starting Model U.N. his 1st year of college, he has attended and staffed conferences, and is very excited for a fantastic VICS!
